Anti-Scientology Protest This Week

By Chris Landers | Posted 4/9/2008

Anonymous, the group recently profiled in City Paper, is staging its next protest beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, at churches of Scientology around the world (except in Philadelphia, where the church got a permit for that day, so Anons will be there on Sunday). This month's theme is Operation Reconnect, focusing on the church's "Disconnection" policy: Scientologists describe it as avoiding people who are hindering one's progress, but Anonymous calls it "cruel and family-destroying."

Anonymous hopes to reunite some disconnected families, and there will be cake. So, you know, expect them. More information about the protest, including plans and locations, can be found here.
