On Aug. 11, police charged four more members of the 1 Mind Ministries religious group with the murder of 2-year-old Javon Thompson, who police now say died in December 2006: Queen Antoinette, 40, Trevia Williams, 20, Marcus Cobbs, 21, and Steven Bynum, 42. All but Bynum were in jail on other charges at the time; Bynum turned himself in at Baltimore Central Booking at about 8 p.m. Aug. 13.

The man murdered July 30 near the KIPP Ujima Village Academy at 4701 Greenspring Ave. has been identified as Ralph Hall, a 37-year-old African-American man, of the 4500 block of Belair Road.

Tuesday Aug. 12

3:15 p.m. Police received a call for a shooting in the 4100 block of Barrington Road in Northwest Baltimore. When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old African-American man, the victim of gunshot wounds to the face and upper body, lying in the grass in the 3700 block of Eldorado Avenue, near the Forest Park High School football field. According to witnesses, the victim was shot by an unknown person behind the field's bleachers. The victim, whose name is as yet unreleased pending notification of his family, was dead at the scene.

10:45 p.m. Police received a call for a shooting in the 1000 block of Brantley Avenue in West Baltimore. When they arrived they found Michael Sewell, a 29-year-old African-American man who lived in the same block, suffering from gunshot wounds in his back. He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m.

Wednesday Aug. 13

3 p.m. Police received a call for a shooting in the 3100 block of Savoy Street in the Lakeland neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore. There they found Vernon Paige, a 21-year-old African-American man who lived nearby in the 2500 block of Southdene Avenue, in the driver's seat of a Dodge Caliber, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital but died at 5:46 p.m.

Thursday Aug. 14

6:40 p.m. Police received a call for an injured person lying in the 2800 block of Oakley Avenue in Northwest Baltimore, a few blocks south of Pimlico Race Course. The victim, an as yet unidentified African-American male, had been shot in his back and head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:12 p.m.

Friday Aug. 15

7:03 a.m. A jogger found the body of an adult African-American female lying on the bridge in the 3700 block of Harford Road in Northeast Baltimore and notified police. The woman, who has not yet been identified, had died of asphyxiation.

Sunday Aug. 17

9:33 p.m. John Person, a 17-year-old African-American male who lived in the 2900 block of Garrison Boulevard, died of injuries he suffered earlier this month; he was still being treated in a local hospital. According to police, Person was standing in an apartment complex parking lot in the same block where he lived when an unknown person shot him at 12:16 a.m., Aug. 7.
