CALL FOR ENTRIES The College of Notre Dame of Maryland's Gormley Gallery is seeking submissions for work and curatorial proposals for its mid-fall 2009 exhibition Experiencing America: Looking Inward, Looking Outward exhibition. The thematic ideas seek to explore "What does it mean to experience America? To have an American experience? To be American?" The deadline is May 15. OPENINGS Another round of MFA Thesis shows opens around MICA April 24 with receptions between 5-7 p.m. East Side Stories: Portraits of a Baltimore Neighborhood, Then and Now opens April 25 at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture. Brady Starr's Anatomy opens April 25 at Joe Squared with a reception at 7 p.m. Spoon Popkin's Presidential Pets opens April 28 at the Yellow Dog Tavern. The Maryland Art Place's 23rd annual Critics' Residency Program opens April 28.

CLOSING RECEPTIONS Andrew Geddes' Conventionalized Calculations for Primary Structures concludes its run at the Hexagon April 24 with a 6:30 p.m. closing reception. Wise Guise, the debut show of Nudashank, the gallery co-operated by Seth Adelsberger and City Paper contributor Alex Ebstein, closes April 25 with a closing reception April 24 from 7-9 p.m.

CLOSING The Gormley Gallery's 20th National Drawing and Print Competitive Exhibition concludes April 24. The group show Letter, Words, and Phrases ends April 26 at Goucher's Rosenberg Gallery. Alphabet ends its run at the Current Gallery April 26. Nancy Rider's Baltimore Hon ends April 26 at the Art Gallery of Fells Point. The group show Inspiration closes at the Definition Gallery April 25. Biotic Connections/ I'll Drown My Book--a two-person show of photographer Kevin Smith and mixed-media artist Dan Corrigan--ends April 26 at 1448 Gallery. Jodi Hoover's They Don't Often Bite: Drawings and Prints ends April 26 at the Minás Gallery. Painting Constructs of Richard Roth ends April 26 at SoWeBo Arts Gallery at Baltimore Pho.
