BAKER ARTIST AWARDS EXHIBITION When the inaugural Baker Artists Awards were finally announced March 26, the totally foreseeable backlash about the process' utter lack of transparency started online shortly thereafter. And it's with the sincerest of intentions that the following words are typed: Baker Artist Awards 2010, please don't insult your potential awardees by asking artists not to look the gift horse in the mouth and announce who the jurors are for the Mary Sawyers Baker Prize and then make the online tallies for the Baltimore's Choice Prize popular-vote winners public as well. In the meantime, an exhibition honoring the 2009 Baker Artist Awards winners opens at the Baltimore Museum of Art April 29 and runs through June 28.
