CASTING/CREW CALLS Run of the Mill Theater is currently looking for middle-aged female actors for its production of Aristophanes' Lysistrata, slated for an October run. Auditions are by appointment only at Load of Fun studios. Aspirants should prepare both a contemporary and classical monologue and bring a head shot and resume. For an audition slot please e-mail with "audition" in the subject line.

Run of the Mill will also be holding company auditions in September, seeking actors, directors, designers, and interns. Auditions/workshops will take place over a two-day period and actor auditions will prepare a five-minute, two-character (find the partner on your own) contemporary scene (from the 1930s to the present). No monologues, and all auditions will be required to participate in a pair of ensemble-building workshops. Also, the Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theatre is seeking two people to be on its crew for a night of one-act plays from Aug. 20-Sept. 6, Thursdays through Sundays. Duties include stage setting between the plays and possibly helping with costume changes. Please contact

OPENINGS Barry Feinstein directs J.M. Dinson's The Ape on the Church Steps, the fifth production of the 2009 Baltimore Playwrights Festival, at the College of Notre Dame's Copeland Theatre in LeClerc Hall. It opens Aug. 13 and runs through Aug. 30. Unified Voices of Johns Hopkins presents Little Shop of Horrors at the Johns Hopkins Hospital's Turner Auditorium (720 Rutland Ave.) Aug. 13; it runs through Aug. 16. (Visit for more details.)
