What's the 311?

The repo man comes a-knockin' in Baltimore around three or four hundred times a month, but before he does, he gives 311 a call. The chart above shows the number of calls about repossessed vehicles to the city's call center--more than 3,000 in total. Unfortunately, the 311 system only started keeping track of these calls last November, so it's tough to say if that's a good year or a bad year.

Disclaimer: What's the 311 is based on data from the Mayor's Office of Information Technology (This time ranging from Jan. 2009 to Sept. 2009). It has been folded, spindled, and mutilated along the way, and no attempt has been made to verify the accuracy of the calls. The life of a repo man is always intense.
