Yesterday's Memory

The silly cat whispers truth—

As if crying out for something more

I thought of peace,

or even magic. . . .

But he sees a different world

Not like us—

We start and end gentle dreams

With ghosts of all we were.

He told me what is important—

Where time could walk you through winter

And

Glow inside the quiet love of morning

I think I remember how it once went. . . .
