Shadow Dancing

By E. Wilburt | Posted 2/9/2000

as flute upon flute

vacuumed of sound

we clank drunken crystal

on slivering moon

champagne symphonic

refilling and hollowing

reeling topsy turvy

a queasy shadowy dance

through the firmament

together

we shatter our final glass

like Greeks

raucous resounding

emptiness

on waning moon

still

breathless

I break

splinters disappear

into a blazing star

the moon rises but

with the star

in silence

I have begun

to waltz
