Walk the Dog

Being a dog owner comes with two things: the unconditional love of a furry beast and an unending, gut-wrenching guilt over what a crappy animal parent you are. Your desire to have a job and a social life are in direct conflict with your dog’s desire to have you home all day, every day. Thankfully, there’s a way to make both of you happy. Call Walk the Dog, a dog-walking and pet-sitting service started in 2002 by Kelly Zimmerman, Julie Benoit, and Molly Doherty. They have a friendly and responsible staff, available for daily or weekly walks to occupy your pooch while you’re at work. They also provide pet-sitting services, so you don’t have to board your dog when you’re out of town. And they won’t just walk the dog—in addition, they’ll provide your pets with food, water, and necessary medications, bring in the mail, and water your plants. They’ll even shower affection on your jealous housebound cats.
