Walk into the Super Star Inn on any given night and you’ll find a bunch of televisions hanging around the ample room, tuned to NASCAR, baseball, football, or whatever game is on. You’ll also find some of the coldest Bud in Baltimore (33.2 degrees at last testing) for $1.50. Best of all, though, the room will likely be full of friendly people, and at some point the jukebox will blast the 1975 David Allan Coe hit “You Never Even Called Me by My Name.” Then, in the middle of the song, after he talks for a minute, pretty much everybody will sing along: “I was drunk the day my mama got out of prison . . . ” Sing it loud and then get back to the game.
