Best Restaurant Scandal

Kawasaki

Up until recently, Kawasaki was known for its sushi. Now it's known for the scandal that shut its doors earlier this year. In March federal prosecutors charged two owners and one manager of Kawasaki with allegedly hiring illegal aliens, setting them up in living quarters, and then pocketing their tips. The idea that the employees at Kawasaki were embroiled in a modern-day indentured-servant operation stunned the loyal clientele of the restaurant. The restaurant's midtown location closed as soon as the news went public. The Fells Point location has since reopened for business, but many customers wonder if they should await a conclusion to this scandal before they patronize the place again.
