Best Bar Food

One-Eyed Mike's

708 S. Bond St., (410) 327-9823, www.oneeyedmikes.com

Posted 9/20/2006

Clean décor, attention to detail, and quality food and service--the type not normally associated with your typical "bar food" establishment--make One-Eyed Mike's the place we go to get our pub grub. The selections and daily specials span from simple--grilled cheese or crab cake sandwich for example--to the more creative. Try the blackened tuna cusabi wrap, with fresh romaine lettuce and a cucumber-wasabi dressing, for an eye-opener. The hot meat loaf, beef, or meatball sandwiches go great with a cold draft, and the roasted tomato bisque with melted cheese and croutons is flat-out delicious. Be sure to sample the quasi-homemade potato chips. Further investigation reveals they are a popular brand, but Mike's special seasoning and refrying process gives them a flavor all their own. Certainly don't leave without joining the Lunch Card Club, because after you've eaten lunch here five times, your sixth lunch is free. And once you've sampled the fare , you'll find it all to easy to get those first five lunches under your belt.
