There is no better commercially available Southern-style barbecue in the Baltimore area, plain and simple. We've tried to find better, believe us, and quite enjoyed the trying, but no one bests Andy Nelson's succulent ribs or smoky, moist pulled pork for sheer eating pleasure or slow-cooked authenticity. (The smoked chicken wings may not be authentic, but they're so good that we don't care.) Throw in some of ANB's fine sides and even better desserts and you might as well be in Memphis. The only way in which ANB continues to defy unpretentious perfection is that it's still not open on Sundays.
