Best French Fries
Waterfront Hotel
1710 Thames St., (410) 537-5055, waterfronthotel.us
Cut-up spuds boiled in hot oil are good. We can all agree on that. How they are cut up, how they are seasoned, and which condiments are offered are the factors that make all the difference. Long, skinny potato pieces with the skin on are a favorite, and that's what the Waterfront Hotel serves. Using Old Bay seasoning, traditionally for seafood, is another plus, and the Waterfront does that, too. But the clincher is that they serve a whole boatload of them in a galvanized bucket and include a helping of chipotle sauce for an extra dose of tastiness. They're so delicious that you think they just have to be good for you, even if you know they aren't.
