In years past if you went into the Depot on any given night it might look the same as it did in 1988, 1994, or even 2002--with the DJs, clientele's fashions, and playlists making you think time had stopped in 1983. Since the injection of moving bodies by hot-topic perpetual party machine Are We Not Men!? last year, however, the Depot has become a bona fide hotspot. With DJs that skip from Daft Punk to Klaus Nomi to Le Tigre to the Notorious B.I.G. to Three 6 Mafia to M.I.A. and live performances from the Lexie Mountain Boys, Thrustlab, and Bobby Conn, the Depot now feels as up-to-date ahistorical and anything-goes whatever as the rest of today's twentysomething generation, where the only thing that matters is an ability to keep the party going.
