Best Sno-Ball

Walther Gardens

Walther and Southern avenues, (410) 426-0546

Posted 9/17/2008

One of the greatest things about grabbing a sno-ball at Walther Gardens is the environment. It's hard to mess up crushed ice and syrup. There are variations on the theme, but typically, you know what you're getting. At Walther Gardens, though, you can peruse the greenhouses in search of portulaca or silocia. Or you can admire the massive vegetable garden growing adjacently and maybe pick out a few jalapeño plants for your own home. Or just sit on the shaded park benches and watch the cars go up and down Walther Avenue while you chat with others who dragged themselves through muggy summer-in-Baltimore weather for some crushed ice and red-stained high-fructose corn syrup.
