There is just something so civilized about Jay's on Read Street. Maybe it's the dark wood bar or the plush leather seats. Maybe it's the fancy cocktail menu or the tinkling of the ivories at this piano bar where patrons are more likely--way more likely--to start crooning a heartfelt ballad than bump and grind. Maybe it's the attentive but never intrusive staff. Whatever it is, sipping a martini and indulging in some good conversation without having to yell over the thumpa thumpa of dance music makes us feel oh so sophisticated and grownup in the best possible way.
