Best Pit-Stop Drink

Midtown Yacht Club

15 E. Centre St., (410) 837-1300

Posted 9/17/2008

This would be the bar that we're most likely to just have one at. We like it, but the Midtown Yacht Club doesn't particularly stand out in any way aside from it being surprisingly convenient; this pub seems to be the connecting piece between downtown/Fells Point/Federal Hill and Mount Vernon/Charles Village/Hampden. There aren't many alternatives around it, so if we're walking or biking up or down town, we're liable to wind up munching on peanuts drawn from the Yacht Club's bottomless barrel or eating something less-than-healthy from its long bar menu, while we rest up for the next leg. It's like the Maryland House of bars.
