Best Cheap Restaurant

Caribbean Kitchen

353 N. Calvert St., (410) 837-2274

Posted 9/18/2002

Who can beat a dinner for $7.09 that includes curry chicken, curry potatoes, rice and beans, and plantains, in addition to two sides (anything from string beans to yams)? A fast-food restaurant might be cheaper, but it won't fill you up with the enormous portions that Caribbean Kitchen offers. They have all the traditional Caribbean dishes here, including jerk and stew chicken; curry goat, chicken, and oxtails; callaloo; codfish; even an island-flavored take on that takeout standby, lake trout (see Best Lake Trout). They even have vegetarian side dishes and old-fashioned American sides like macaroni and cheese. If you want to get the most for your money, Caribbean Kitchen has you covered.
