Five years into the Hippodrome's reopening, it's important to remember that the grande Westside dame isn't the only theater in town hosting touring productions. If you want big-ticket musicals and the like, sure, the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center is totally the way to go. If you want left-of-field storytelling and innovative uses of stage space, check out the Theatre Project, whose 2008-'09 schedule included this entertaining production from Liverpool's Fool's Proof Theatre. Using only three performers, minimal props, and recorded sounds, FPT's The Eagle Has Landed crisscrossed Europe and the Atlantic, time and space, as a younger brother searched for the older brother he hadn't seen in 20 years. It was a entertaining bit of drama, and who knew a rolling coat hanger could be turned into such a multipurpose prop?
