Adam Robinson's Publishing Genius imprint doesn't win this laurel because of its active web presence at the Everyday Genius blog, nor for the ongoing series of chapbooks from locals such as Lauren Bender and Stephanie Barber, or for its ingenious series of downloadable PDF series. No, Publishing Genius scores nothing but net this year because the first ever novel it published, Shane Jones' dream-like Light Boxes, was enthusiastically reviewed, picked up for a republication by Penguin, sold out of its first run, and optioned by filmmaker Spike Jonze. Not bad.
