Best Place for a Quiet Drink

Birds of a Feather

1712 Aliceanna St., (410) 675-8466, abs.net/~scotchjh/

Posted 9/16/2009

Please note that this distinction isn't to imply that this cozy Fells Point destination is frequently empty or otherwise good for solitary sorrow drowning. We're deeming it Best Place for a Quiet Drink, not Best Place to Drink Alone. The difference? Birds of a Feather's intimate bar area--and the back room with the fireplace during the colder months--offers the ideal place to enjoy its distinguished and varied stock of single-malt Scotch, the sort of spirit that begs for cordial discussion rather than barroom hooting and hollering. And whether you've come with a fellow fan of the amber liquids or are just striking up a conversation with a nearby whiskey drinker, you're in for a solid evening of convivial talk and luscious, peaty aromas.
