On a recent visit to Miss Shirley's, our dining companion asked us if we'd ever had lunch there and we laughed. We're sure Miss Shirley's lunch is delish, but with such a massive and intriguing menu of breakfast options served all day, ordering a sandwich is the last thing on our minds. Instead, we choose between decadent sweets like coconut cream-stuffed French toast and savory wonders like the eggs Benedict with crab and fried green tomato. Unfortunately, we're not the only ones entranced by Shirley's charms; waits during standard brunch hours at the Cold Spring location can be insane. But food this good is worth waking up a little bit earlier on a weekend for.
