It's taken less than four years for Zeke's to become the city's coffee standard bearer. That little black-and-white coffee bean/crab logo flies at local farmers' markets, the Mill Valley Garden Center, Eddie's Supermarkets, and bumper stickers and T-shirts all over town. And for good reason. President and head roaster Thomas Rhodes seeks out the best growers--whether they're fair trade, rainforest alliance, or merely good farmers who grow independent of those labels--and the best beans, organic and conventional. At about $12 a pound, you can travel the world. Lately, we've been hanging out in Ethiopia, but that could change on a whim or a suggestion by someone working the stall.
