You know what blows? Craving a particular food when you're all hungover on a Sunday morning, and having to drive 45 pain-filled minutes to get it. Such was the reality for us pitiable souls desiring dim sum, as places around here sucked or didn't exist. Thankfully, finally, there's Asian Court, which produces D.C.-suburb quality dim sum, but is way closer to Baltimore than mainstays in Silver Spring and Wheaton. Standards like black bean clams, chicken feet, and chow fun are very good, while taro cakes and chive dumplings are some of the best we've had. Asian Court has survived the sophomore slump (when the original chef leaves and quality declines) often associated with new dim sum places. Thus, it's crowded, so like with any dim sum outing, get there early, eat up, and move along--can't you see there are people waiting?
