Although we're granting Golden West best breakfast for about the billionth time, we're also asking you not to go there. It's too crowded already. The tiny room and closely spaced tables are constantly jammed with folks who, like us, can't resist the made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes, the apple-wood smoked bacon, and the huevos rancheros all served all day, every day. Sometimes service crawls and sometimes we wait eons for a coffee refill, but we keep going back. Maybe it's the Bismarck, a bubble of pastry dough filled with fruit and doused in butter and sugar. The menu says, "There is no substitute for real butter, if it offends you do not order this." Breakfast with an attitude. We love it. And it's ours, we tell you, all ours. Keep away.
