Never mind Ricky Martin. If you want to experience la vida loca first hand, plunge into the frenzied fiesta that frolics across the Latin Palace's dance floor. Carved out of the old Broadway Theater in the heart of Baltimore's burgeoning Latin Quarter, the Palace is a handsome, multilevel nightclub dedicated to salsa, merengue, rumba, and other warm-clime dance delights. On Thursday and Friday nights the club offers dance lessons (with live music Thursdays). Saturday night brings a nonstop mucho grande dance party. (Talk about a heat wave.) Just don't forget the first rule of Latin dance: Keep those hips moving. This can be a struggle for stiff-jointed gringos who weren't weaned on the rolling rhythms. The key is to relax. Or, to couch it in less delicate terms: Free your mind and your ass will follow.
