We may have to retire this category soon because the Hippo manages to win just about every year. People may grumble sometimes, but they always come back. Why? Because the Hippo offers the biggest variety of things to do, the best music to dance to, some of the most professional bartenders around, and sooner or later on a Saturday night everyone stops by to check out the action. Owner Chuck Bowers is usually on hand to make sure people are having a good time, and we like that. It makes us feel that the host really cares about whether or not people are being entertained. Maybe that's what being best is all about.
