This category was sewn up the second we walked into this unpretentious new Canton bar and saw a couple of gals bumping and grinding in the middle of the tiny dance floor to Sisqo's "Thong Song"--and showing off the very item the song celebrates. OK, granted, we're easy--flash us a little thong and we're anybody's, just like the prez. And it would be nice if Baltimore lesbians had a greater variety of bars to choose from; the more upscale options around town draw mixed-gender, not necessarily queer crowds. The city's limited women's-bar circuit can also use all the hedonism it can get, and Gallagher's has that angle covered. Besides the dance floor and DJ (who plays more hip-hop than we hear in most gay clubs in town), the place includes two pool tables in its back room, a separate dining area and a full menu of pub grub, karaoke Thursdays and Fridays, open-mic nights, and a bank of video games, along with the usual drink specials, softball get-togethers, and some no doubt very, uh, empowering wet T-shirt contests.
