Perhaps it's yet another sign that we're getting old here at Baltimore's Most Age-Conscious Alternative Weekly, but we've stopped eating Wonder Bread. We've also given up anything that resembles Wonder Bread, including those sweet, doughy breads labeled "Honey Wheat" or "Cinnamon Swirl." That's why we love the Stone Mill Bakery. Stone Mill sells bread for grownups. We love the simple heartiness of their well-textured baguette and the more complicated, acquired-taste of the sourdough ficelle. When we're in the mood for a softer, less-challenging bread, there's always the trendy goodness of foccacia. And if our sweet tooth gets out of hand, Stone Mill offers a counter-full of muffins, danishes, and assorted goodies.
