In what is basically a middling restaurant town, it’s odd to find so many places offering good sushi. There’s the sushi bar in Cross Street Market, Matsuri in the same neighborhood, Sushi Café in Fells Point, Shogun on Charles Street, the new Minato in Mount Vernon, and the Korean restaurants Busan Sashimi and Nam Kang. But if you’re talking about the best quality sushi, the most flavorful fish, and the most dazzling presentation, we think the best bet is still the old standby, Kawasaki. Eating the sushi there is like eating candy—it melts in your mouth. And if you sit at traditional tables in the front window, you can play footsie with your date while you eat. Heaven is a place on earth.
