Nothing makes a meal more pleasurable than dining alfresco, unless it takes place a scant few feet from fume-spewing automotive traffic; such seems to be the lot of many outdoor dining spots, alas. The Ambassador Dining Room, however, is a true oasis in the midst of city hubbub. The rear of the restaurant opens to a large, tranquil courtyard complete with a burbling fountain and manicured English garden. During warm weather you can dine amid the greenery, but even once the nights turn cool outdoor dining is still possible on the Ambassador’s covered terrace, which comes complete with fireplaces to chase the chill. The Ambassador’s sophisticated royal Indian cuisine tastes even better when you can focus on the stars and not the cars.
