Best Lake Trout: Ital Foods For Life
Baltimore Farmers’ Market, Holliday and Saratoga streets, under the Jones Falls Expressway
It doesn’t matter how thick the batter, lake trout often tastes like stinky cheap bony fish. But the fish served up at the Ital Foods for Life tent at the Baltimore Farmers’ Market each Sunday morning tastes unbelievably fresh, along with the mixed green salad and rice served up in its popular platters. The platters can easily make for two meals, but after starting on the fish it’s easy to gorge on the heaping portion. The crew working the booth are always in good humor, playing their dub and reggae and easing the tempers of those willing to wait in long lines.
