Best French Fries

With a Bush in the White House and virtually zero job growth, times are tough, and we aren’t about to turn down a cheap lunch. For $2, the friendly folks at Dudley’s will give us a heaping pile of boardwalk-style fries, liberally slathered in vinegar, hot sauce, and Old Bay. The fries are made from scratch, with fresh potatoes and vegetable oil, and the service is unfailingly friendly, even when dealing with typical Lexington Market insanity. (They also offer decent fried mozzarella, sketchy-looking fried chicken, and just about every form of deep-fried vegetable we can imagine.) Plus they’re just so damn cheap; even the small order is a full meal.
