Aladdins Shish Kebab
1421 Lawrence St., (410) 625-7800
We know a frozen falafel when we bite into one, and the falafel at Aladdins most certainly is not frozen. The South Baltimore restaurant makes all its falafel from scratch, and it’s the best in town. The lamb kebabs, hummus, and brick-oven pizza are also exemplary, and the prices are hard to beat. As if this weren’t enough, Aladdins offers an amazingly satisfying low-budget dining experience. The restaurant offers takeout and delivery, but we love to gather a huge group of friends together around the large tables on the restaurant’s porch, which overlooks the harbor. The atmosphere is casual; we bring our own beers and smoke from the huge honking hookahs that the restaurant offers. And we always make sure to tip the staff generously for being so patient with our drunk asses. It might not be the Charleston, but on a warm spring night there may be no more pleasant dining experience in town.
