How do we love Tecla Podczaski, let us count the ways. 1) She’s been a fixture on the scene for years, serving drinks at the Ottobar since it opened in its original location on Davis Street in 1997. 2) She’s the kind of bartender who thinks that getting everyone their drinks as quickly as possible is more important than chatting with her friends. 3) She still manages to be one of the friendliest bartenders in town, always flashing her infectious grin and never making anyone feel snubbed. 4) She always remembers what we drink, and it’s usually on the bar before we say a word. 5) She never mocks us for spending hours on the “crack machine”—the touchscreen bar game that’s got us hooked. 6) She has mad style. Even on a night when we’re drowning our frustrations from a hard day’s work her ever-changing hair color always puts a smile on our face. 7) She’s Tecla. You just gotta love her.
