Greg’s Bagels
Belvedere Square, 519 E. Belvedere Ave., (410) 323-9463
Even in an age of gourmet bakeries and every flavor of bagel—including “everything”—Greg’s Bagels still manages to impress and surprise with its unique hand-rolled concoctions: white chocolate and macadamia nut bagels, cornbread bagels, even non-bagel taralli bagels, plus the usual poppysesamewhathaveyou. And if the breadstuffs alone aren’t enough to impress, there’s always Greg’s selection of quality schmears, unusual bagel-as-sandwich concoctions (“Sahib Greg’s Taste of India,” for example), and one of the primo selections of bagel-ready smoked fish—often custom-smoked and specially imported—in the lower 48. If you care about how your breakfast actually tastes, it’s hard to beat Greg’s.
