Last year's winner returns to take the best thrift category a second time. Recently expanded and reorganized, the Southside Goodwill offers an even more satisfying thrift experience than its previous prize-winning incarnation. We know of no other thrift store that offers such a consistently excellent selection of high-quality clothing and housewares, giving us many satisfying chances to flaunt our secondhand shopping savvy. ("This 100 percent silk DKNY blouse? Oh, I paid $3.50 for it.") Confidential to the size 4 who regularly donates impeccable designer duds unwearable by regular mortals: Send your clothes to the Salvation Army, Ally McBeal--our doctor says we need to lower our blood pressure.
