There's Tex, there's Mex, and there's Blue Agave. This spunky newcomer (well, relative newcomer--it had recently opened at this time last year) sports impressive service, great ambiance that captures the many facets of our neighbor to the south, and a revolving menu that marries the freshness of seasonal produce to the staples of Mexican cuisine. Sip from a veritable survey of ambitious (if pricey) margaritas, or sample a "flight" of tequilas. Savor the dark mole sauces, or the adventurous touches that make familiar dishes new (chili relleno spiced with the pungent herb epazote, sea bass encrusted with plaintains). Eclecticism isn't its own reward, of course, but the Agave's mix-and-match approach produces plenty of hits to offset the occasional misses.
