Stay Frosty: Mapping the Coldest Beers in Baltimore

For your convenience, we've mapped all the bars and pubs the City Paper I-Team™ visited for our Sizzlin Summer 2010 feature "NUMB". You can also search the results of our investigations from 2006, 2007, and 2009 (we didn't take temps in '08, opting instead for a summer cocktail contest), as well as by beer brand*, in case you absolutely need the coldest Budweiser on tap.

*A NOTE ON BEERS. We've frequently been assailed by beer wonks about how beer is not supposed to be cold, that the colder the brew, the less the carbonation, and thereby less flavor and aroma. Well, that may be true for hand-poured cask ales, stouts and whatnot, but a we're talking cheap industrial American lagers. And with those, the closer you get to freezing the better. And if there are a few speciality ales in the mix here, well, those were classy joints that don't serve cheap beer, and we just needed an excuse to hang out there and drink. Take those red thermometers as a badge of honor.
