Formerly called Growler's, this is a neighborhood place with a good selection of beer, if no great bargains. Pints (Guinness and Brewer's Art Resurrection are constants, plus a rotating selection of craft beers from about 10 taps) are a Cantonesque $4.50 ($3.50 before 8 p.m. during daily happy hours). There is one small pool table back amid the small dining tables, and lots of guys, mostly of the paunchy, middle-aged, local neighborhood persuasion. There's a friendly vibe and Taphouse is a good place to get into a political debate (there are Republicans there). Just don't expect to park anywhere nearby--Eastern Avenue at Potomac is your best bet; all the side street spots are spoken-for by residents.
