Not to be confused with the same-named Rotunda pizzeria, this Northeast Baltimore carry-out/delivery stop really doesnít offer anything different than every other similar place: pizza, subs, gyros, deep-fried goodies. What sets it apart is its daily 10 a.m.-3 p.m. lunch special: any one of its eight-inch subs for only $4.59. Yes, cheese steak, meatball, a rather excellent Italian cold cut, all less than 5 bucks. The deal gets even sweeter if you opt for either the usually $8.75 shrimp salad sub or crab cake sub, which during the lunch special go for a mere $5.59 each. Casa Miaís shrimp salad is refreshingly light on mayo and excessive spice, seasoned enough to give the ample two scoops on the toasted sub roll a piquant life. Even better is the crab cake sub: two nice-sized cakes hearty with meat--nothing looking like imitation crab here--liberally seasoned but not overpowering the yummy crab. Order it with a touch of mayo, lettuce, tomato, and raw onion and try not to think about the 800 mg of sodium youíre seriously enjoying. Itís more than a meal in and of itself, but, for the record, Casa Miaís onion rings ($3.75) kinda rock.
