The North Baltimore/Towson location of a local chain, Vito's Pizza near Wells Discount Liquors offers Neapolitan pizza with a light tomato sauce on a flavorful thin crust. Vito's Special (large $15.95) is a classic combination of pepperoni, sliced dry Italian sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom. A colorful veggie pie (large $13.95) was hearty with a surprise of garlic without suffering from a soggy crust under the weight of all the chunky vitamin-filled vegetables. The garlic and oil-brushed double-crust on a slice of spaghetti pizza ($4) from the selection of premades held ricotta-creamy pasta in red sauce with enough mozzarella holding it together to eat with your hands. The Italian deli ($4) can be eaten with your hands, too-dough, mozz, salami, and ham, rolled and baked-and dipped in the side of tomato sauce, if only they kept it in the oven a bit longer to cook the core. The white pizza with garlicky sautéed spinach (large $12.95) was a lovely vegetarian option with mozz, dollops of ricotta, and sliced tomato; on the other side of paradise, the cheese-steak pizza (large $18.95) layered sautéed peppers and onions with thinly sliced steak under melted yellow and white cheese slices that stick to your teeth.
