Why We Go: Well, duh--everyone knows that the Helmand is the place to bring a date. Delicious Afghan food, reasonably fancy atmosphere, and, most importantly, cheap.
What We Eat: Go for the appetizers. You can get the same tastes and flavors, and more of them, for the same amount of money as the entrées. The vegetarian aushak, filled with leeks and served atop minty yogurt sauce is a must.
What We'd Change: The place can fill up with theater folks fast, leaving you to languish at the bottom caste of service.
