Why We Go: Fresh, tasty Thai food with a nice array of seafood preparations and vegetarian options other than chicken and shrimp-free pad Thai.
What We Eat: Whatever soft-shell crab special is on the menu is a surefire pleaser. Otherwise, the mu dang (honey-roasted pork) is pleasantly honeyed but not overly sweet, and the ruam mit-ta-lay--a seafood combo served with veggies and a light but piquant ginger and hot chile sauce--is a refreshing change of pace from the Thai curry norm.
What We'd Change: Ban Thai's Mulberry and Charles streets location makes parking nigh impossible for quick-stop takeout, and unless we're already downtown-ish, we never consider dinner there for the same reason.
