Why We Go: Because we didn't eat anything before going to a Creative Alliance event and it's a long two bus rides home.

What We Eat: Yes, people swear by the deep-dish pies here, but we much prefer the overstuffed Italian cold cut sub and the baked pizza fries, a pan-sized smattering of crisped potatoes topped with marinara and gooey mozzarella.

What We'd Change: Little to nothing: Matthew's is one of those places whose simple charm lies in doing a few things very, very, very well.
