Why We Go: We want to leave our living room but still feel like we're at home, hanging out with some friends and watching some sports on television. Yellow Dog also has one of the few regular Saturday brunches in town.

What We Eat: Anything that's been slow-cooked, but especially the braised short ribs entr%u017De that comes with Brussels sprouts and blue-cheese grits, or the short-rib appetizer, and always a side of our favorite onion rings in Baltimore.

What We'd Change: We still need a reason to head upstairs, but that's the case with almost every neighborhood restaurant in Baltimore, where all of the action is on the ground level.
