Why We Go: No, it's not a NASCAR bar or repair shop, the "Pit" refers to pit beef, which apparently is now the focus of the former Aladdin's Cafe. Luckily, the very good and inexpensive Middle Eastern preparations are still available.
What We Eat: The shawarmas and foole are especially good, and this may be the only place in B-more you can get a gyro made with real grilled lamb.
What We'd Change: The pit meat lacks smokiness and crusty char, and is almost too tender. And there is no actual pit as far as we can tell.
