More on Jad's Caddy Shack.

In these ever more ridiculously expensive times we are so grateful for places like Jad's Caddy Shack, which not only is located just down Back River Neck Road from the cheapest gas station in the Baltimore metro area ($3.84/gallon at press time) but also boasts a menu where big plates of homemade food come for under ten bucks. We're especially fond of Jad's for its exemplary homemade fish and chips.Three hefty hunks of crispy, hand-battered cod, a nice mound o' fries, and side veggie of your choosing (you're crazy not to get the slaw) for $8.99. The four-piece homemade fried chicken dinner ($8.99) is equally tasty (someone in Jad's kitchen knows their way around a deep fat fryer) and truly a bargain. If frying's not your thing, you can always get steamed shrimp (1/2 lb large, $7.99), various pastas (surprisingly good; try the spaghetti and meat sauce, $8.99) or a hefty, lumpy crab cake sandwich ($9.99)--available broiled or fried.
