More on Don't Know Tavern.

Don't Know Tavern in Federal Hill is aptly named. It doesn't seem to know if it's a neighborhood bar, a swanky lounge, a sports bar, or a restaurant. Trying to be all of these simultaneously gives the bar a disjointed identity, but does provide a little bit of something for everyone. After we took a seat at the large U-shaped bar in the middle of a laid-back dining area, the bartender explained the happy hour specials. Don't Know has a three draft beers for $7 from 4-7 p.m. weekdays, a boon for neighborhood-beer-drinking-types. The 12 beers on tap range from Dogfish Head and Miller Light to Samuel Adams Summer Ale and Guinness. For the loungier set, like the three women sipping wine while reading books on couches by the wall, there are bottomless glasses of wine for $7 from 4-8 p.m. on Fridays. But most of the customers on the night we showed up were twentysomethings drinking beer and watching sports on the 11 TVs plastered around the bar. There's a large food menu, as well, though we decided to just get an order of garlic herb fries ($4), which were tasty and so generously heaped on the plate they were dinner enough all by themselves.
